UOL’s Dr Aazir Khan highlights key drivers for EV adoption at ‘2nd Electric Vehicle Conference’

At the 2nd Electric Vehicle Conference in Lahore, Dr. Aazir Khan, Director of the Integrated Engineering Centre of Excellence at the University of Lahore, introduced PakKEVO—a transformative initiative aimed at promoting EV education, collaboration, and policy reform.

Dr. Khan emphasized the necessity of aligning fiscal priorities with sustainable energy goals, stating, “We must ensure that fiscal priorities align with sustainable energy goals, especially when climate resilience and green infrastructure are no longer optional.”

The conference underscored the importance of public-private partnerships and strategic financing to overcome challenges in EV adoption. Initiatives like Daewoo’s plan to electrify short intercity routes and the rise in local EV manufacturing signal a promising shift towards sustainable mobility in Pakistan.
