EV Sector in Pakistan Urged to Shift from Ambition to Action

Lahore, Pakistan – May 4, 2025:
The 2nd Electric Vehicles (EV) Conference held in Lahore delivered a strong message to Pakistan’s EV industry: it’s time to move beyond ambition and take decisive action. Hosted by the Climate Action Centre (CAC) and PakEVO, with support from The Bank of Punjab, the conference brought together key stakeholders from across the EV ecosystem — including industry leaders, government officials, financial institutions, and environmental advocates.
Speakers highlighted the urgent need to transition from policy-level aspirations to concrete, on-ground implementation of electric mobility solutions. Discussions revolved around key themes such as localization of EV manufacturing, infrastructure development, financing mechanisms, and regulatory streamlining.
The conference served as a platform to align public-private efforts in accelerating EV adoption, reducing dependency on fossil fuels, and addressing the climate crisis. It emphasized the role of collaborative frameworks and innovative financing to make EVs accessible and scalable across Pakistan.
“The time for dialogue has passed; we must now prioritize execution,” was the collective sentiment echoed throughout the event.
